After nearly two years of separation, Deborra-Lee Furness has officially filed for divorce from Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman, closing the chapter on their 27-year marriage. The Australian actress and director submitted the divorce papers in New York on May 23, according to DailyMail. The split is drama-free, with all financial and custodial matters reportedly resolved privately.
Despite earlier concerns about the absence of a prenup—especially with Jackman’s estimated $250 million fortune—both parties emerged financially stable and committed to co-parenting their two adopted children respectfully.
In a heartfelt statement, Deborra-Lee spoke of betrayal, healing, and spiritual growth: “Even adversity is leading us to our greatest good.” She described the end of their union as both painful and freeing, emphasizing personal integrity, healing, and gratitude.
The divorce now awaits a judge’s signature for finalization.
