American R&B singer Chris Brown has been granted £5 million bail by a London court following charges of grievous bodily harm linked to an alleged assault at Tape nightclub in Mayfair in 2023. The 36-year-old was arrested in Salford and released under strict conditions, including passport surrender and a ban from contacting the alleged victim or visiting the nightclub.
Brown, who did not attend the Southwark Crown Court hearing, is accused of attacking a music producer with a tequila bottle in what prosecutors call an “unprovoked attack.” Despite the serious charges, he will continue his world tour starting June 8 in Amsterdam, with UK stops in Manchester, London, Cardiff, Birmingham, and Glasgow.
His next court appearance is set for June 20, between performances in Cardiff and London, alongside co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu (aka HoodyBaby).
