Global Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has announced a bold new strategy for releasing his music. In a recent Instagram Story, he revealed that his upcoming songs will be exclusive to fans who purchase tickets to his concerts.
The Nigerian singer, known internationally for hits like Ye and Last Last, is planning a free concert in Burkina Faso this year. He shared his excitement about connecting with fans in the West African country, saying:
“If possible it will be an honor for me to give the people of Burkina Faso a free Burna Boy concert sometime this year insha Allah.”
This announcement comes amid increasing global focus on Burkina Faso, led by Captain Ibrahim Traoré after the 2022 military coup. Burna Boy’s fans there can expect his signature high-energy performances, as he continues to dominate stages worldwide.
Although Burna Boy rarely performs in Africa, he recently headlined a sold-out concert in Kenya. Earlier this year in April 2025, he packed the 80,000-capacity Stade de France in Paris and England’s largest indoor arena, The Co-op Manchester.
In a move that emphasizes exclusivity, Burna Boy declared that his new album No Sign of Weakness and all future music releases will only be available to those who buy concert tickets. His official channel posted:
“The No Sign of Weakness album and any music Burna Boy drops till further notice will strictly be for Burna Boy concert ticket buyers only. If you don’t fit into that category, go elsewhere. #Respectfully.”
This strategy rewards loyal fans who support his live shows but may disappoint others, especially Nigerian fans who haven’t seen Burna Boy headline a concert in Nigeria since January 1, 2023.
