The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has announced that the Port Harcourt refinery is more than 90% complete. During a visit by labor leaders, Group CEO Mele Kyari confirmed that the refinery, with a 150,000-barrel-per-day capacity, has begun crude oil processing and product delivery. This achievement marks a major milestone in Nigeria’s path to energy independence and reduced reliance on imports. With one of the two PHRC refineries now operational, Nigeria’s refining capacity is set to increase significantly.
