Travis Scott was arrested in Paris on Friday morning after reportedly being involved in a violent incident at the George V hotel. The altercation allegedly occurred between the rapper, his bodyguard, and hotel security.
A hotel representative declined to comment on the situation, stating that an investigation is underway. Scott, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II, was in Paris for the Olympic Games and had attended a U.S. men’s basketball event earlier.
According to the Paris prosecutor’s office, police were called to the hotel on August 9, 2024, and arrested Scott for assaulting a security guard who intervened to separate him from his bodyguard. Local news sources indicated that witnesses claimed Scott appeared heavily intoxicated during the incident and refused to take a breathalyzer test. Following his arrest, Scott was reportedly taken to a hospital for tests.
This incident adds to Scott’s history of controversy following the Astroworld tragedy. Earlier this year, he was involved in a fight at a Cannes afterparty and faced charges related to a disturbance on a charter boat in Miami. Although Miami prosecutors dropped a disorderly intoxication charge from the June incident, a misdemeanor trespassing charge remains active.
Scott recently wrapped up the European leg of his Circus Maximus tour in Lisbon, Portugal, and is scheduled to resume the tour in September in Chile, concluding in November in Las Vegas.
