Oasis, the iconic British rock band, announced on Tuesday that they will reunite for a 2025 world tour, ending their 15-year hiatus.
Brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher will lead the band in a series of live performances, reigniting the spark that once made them global rock legends.
Oasis first gained fame with their debut album, Definitely Maybe, 30 years ago. However, they disbanded in 2009 when lead guitarist and primary songwriter Noel Gallagher decided he could no longer work with frontman Liam Gallagher. Their well-known tension led to a split that left fans disappointed.

Excitement is now building with the announcement of their reunion. “This is it, this is happening,” the band declared on X, also revealing that tickets will go on sale this Saturday. The first show is scheduled for July 4th in Cardiff, Wales, marking the start of what promises to be a monumental tour.
The tour will feature 14 shows across the UK, including stops in Cardiff, Manchester—where Oasis was formed in 1991—London, Edinburgh, and Dublin. In a statement on the band’s website, they proclaimed, “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.” This bold declaration has further fueled anticipation among fans.
Interestingly, the reunion announcement followed a weekend of rumors, which led to a 160% spike in global streams on Spotify over just two hours on Monday compared to the previous week. The world is eager for Oasis to return.
The 2025 tour will coincide with the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ second album, What’s the Story) Morning Glory? This album includes iconic hits like “Don’t Look Back in Anger” and “Wonderwall,” which helped cement the band’s place in music history.
Morning Glory’s release in August 1995 saw Oasis go head-to-head with Blur’s Country House in a chart battle that captivated the media. Although Blur ultimately claimed the top spot, Morning Glory went on to sell over 22 million copies worldwide. It became the best-selling album of the 1990s in Britain and marked the band’s breakthrough in the United States.
Despite their musical achievements, the Gallagher brothers frequently clashed during Oasis’ tours in the ’90s, with their rivalry persisting even after the band’s breakup. In 2017, Liam commented, “He thinks he’s the man, and I think I’m the man, do you know what I mean?” This ongoing tension adds to the intrigue surrounding their reunion, making it all the more eagerly anticipated by fans worldwide.
