Rapper Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Armani Jones, was arrested in Las Vegas on Monday, August 26, 2024, on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.
The 29-year-old Atlanta native was taken into custody around 5 a.m. after an incident on the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
Lil Baby’s attorneys, Drew Findling and David Chesnoff, stated that he has a valid concealed carry permit from Georgia. However, Nevada does not recognize concealed weapons permits from Georgia. The rapper was booked into the Clark County Detention Center, posted a $5,000 cash bond, and was released from custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 1.
The Grammy-winning artist achieved significant success with his 2020 album ‘My Turn,’ which topped music charts. His single ‘The Bigger Picture’ reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and addressed the death of George Floyd and broader issues of police misconduct. Other popular tracks include ‘Yes Indeed,’ featuring Drake, and ‘Drip Too Hard’.
