Music icon D’banj is generating excitement for his upcoming album, The Entertainer D’Sequel, which is set to drop on Friday, August 16.
In a newly released trailer, D’banj showcases an impressive cast that includes Mavin Records’ Don Jazzy, Nollywood actor Gideon Okeke, and media personality Jimi Akinsola, along with himself. The trailer has an espionage film vibe, featuring a gripping interrogation scene. A standout moment occurs when D’banj declares:
“Just because the soldier rests his gun doesn’t mean he’s no longer a shooter. People keep asking me if I’m back, if I’m back. How can I be back when I never left? I am the entertainer.”
Earlier this year, D’banj celebrated his 20th anniversary in the music industry with the release of his single “04” in May. He followed that with “Koko” in June, a modern reinterpretation of his 2005 hit “Tongolo,” and “Worthy,” a collaboration with Senegalese legend Youssou N’Dour and Nigerian-American The Voice contestant Chechi Sarai.
These tracks are anticipated to feature on his upcoming album.
