CKay has officially launched his new music label, Boyfrnd Music, celebrating the occasion with a unique jewelry piece alongside his manager, Joseph Salubi.
The talented Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer, whose real name is Chukwuka Ekweani, has also announced his second single of the year, titled ‘Egwu Eji.’
After previously releasing ‘Wahala,’ featuring Nigerian hip-hop icon Olamide, CKay is set to follow up with ‘Egwu Eji,’ which translates to “something special” in Igbo. The track is scheduled for release on Friday, August 30, 2024.
In an interview with AlbumTalks, CKay expressed his commitment to creating a supportive environment for artists through Boyfrnd Music, which also has an American subsidiary, Boyfrnd Music LLC. He emphasized the importance of allowing artists, songwriters, and producers to focus on their creativity while the company manages the complexities of the music industry.

CKay stated, “We aim to foster a transparent and supportive atmosphere where every artist can thrive without exploitation. Joseph Salubi shares this vision as the Managing Director.”
Following the launch of Boyfrnd Music, CKay shared a snippet of ‘Egwu Eji’ on August 28, 2024, generating excitement among fans for his upcoming release.
