Despite fouling in the third round, his performance was sufficient to advance him to Saturday night’s final, placing him fifth overall in qualification group B.
In other events, the trio of Chioma Onyekwere, Obiageri Amaechi, and Ashley Anumba were eliminated in the women’s Discus Throw qualification. The mixed relay quartet of Samuel Ogazi, Ella Onojuvwevwo, Emmanuel Ojeli and Patience Okon George also missed out on the final after finishing 9th overall, despite clocking a new National Record of 3:11.99.
