Jamie Foxx Shares Details on Last Year’s Medical Emergency

Jamie Foxx recently opened up about the medical emergency that landed him in the hospital last year. The 56-year-old Academy Award-winning actor spoke to fans in Phoenix, Arizona, in a video that has since gone viral.

“On April 11 last year, I had a bad headache and asked my friend for an Advil. After that, I was out for 20 days and don’t remember anything,” Foxx recounted. He also described how doctors treated him during this health crisis.

“They told me I was in Atlanta, and my sister and daughter took me to the first doctor, who gave me a Cortisone shot. The next doctor said there was something more serious going on, but I won’t say it on camera,” he recalled.

At the time of the incident, Foxx was in Atlanta filming the upcoming Netflix movie “Back in Action” with Cameron Diaz. His daughter, Corinne, initially described the situation as a “medical complication.”

In his first public appearance since the health scare, Foxx attended the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards in December. He told the crowd, “It feels good to be here. I cherish every single minute now. It’s different.”

Last year, Foxx said in an Instagram post that a health problem he experienced sent him “to hell and back,” but he’s never publicly stated the illness he was dealing with.
