Ghostface Killah recently revealed that he has never tuned in to Hulu’s widely popular series about the Wu-Tang Clan, offering a unique perspective on his decision.
In a candid conversation on Touré’s Touré Show, which premiered on June 28, the artist known as Pretty Toney explained his stance on the show Wu-Tang: An American Saga.
“I’ve never seen that show. Never watched it, never in my life,” Ghostface Killah asserted. “RZA knows that. Because that’s not my story. If you want Ghostface’s story, you’ve got to get it from Ghostface himself.”
He continued, expressing his individuality and the personal history he carries: “You might hear about parts of me, like having two brothers with muscular dystrophy, but I am who I am. There’s a story behind myself.”
When asked if he was curious about the show, Ghostface remained firm: “I don’t care about that.”
He acknowledged that he appreciates the show’s quality, given RZA’s involvement, but cited one reason for his abstention: he never had a conversation with the person who wrote his character.
Ghostface isn’t alone among Wu-Tang members in this perspective. Method Man, speaking on Kevin Hart’s Golden Minds podcast last year, shared a similar sentiment, emphasizing his trust in the show’s creative liberties and RZA’s vision.
Both artists highlighted their respect for RZA’s genius and the importance of telling the Wu-Tang story, each in their own way reflecting on their role and the broader impact of their music careers.
