Renowned for his stellar career with Ajax and Real Betis among others, Finidi George brings a wealth of experience both as a player and coach. He was part of Nigeria’s illustrious ‘Golden Generation’ that triumphed at the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations and made a memorable World Cup debut the same year in the USA. With 62 national team caps to his name, including appearances at the 1994 and 1998 FIFA World Cups, he also boasts a decorated international career with medals from several AFCON tournaments.
Prior to his national team tenure, Finidi successfully managed Enyimba International in the NPFL, clinching the league title in his second season. Now, he aims to replicate that success at Rivers United, a club he joins after they finished eighth in the recent NPFL season, a challenging campaign following the departure of former coach Stanley Eguma.
With his appointment, Rivers United supporters eagerly anticipate his impact as he embarks on this new chapter in his coaching journey.
