Eminem Dethrones Taylor Swift on Billboard 200 with The Death Of Slim Shady

Eminem has successfully dethroned Taylor Swift from the top of the Billboard 200 album chart with his latest release, The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce).

This marks a significant achievement for the rapper, as he claims the number one spot after Swift’s album, The Tortured Poets Department, held the position for an impressive 12 consecutive weeks. Swift’s album surpassed Whitney Houston’s record for her self-titled album, which spent 11 weeks at number one, but fell just short of Stevie Wonder’s Songs In The Key Of Life, which held the top spot for 13 weeks, according to Forbes.

This victory is Eminem’s 11th number one album, placing him in a tie with Bruce Springsteen, Barbra Streisand, and Kanye West for the fifth-most number one albums. The Beatles lead with 19, followed by Jay-Z and Taylor Swift with 14 each, and Drake with 13.

In the latest chart update, K-Pop group ENHYPHEN’s Romance: Untold debuted at number two, while Zach Bryan’s The Great American Bar Scene took the number three spot. Swift’s album dropped to number four, followed by Morgan Wallen’s One Thing At A Time, Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard And Soft, Chappell Roan’s The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess, and Clairo’s Charm, which debuted at number eight, marking her highest-charting album. Megan Moroney’s Am I Okay and Noah Kahn’s Stick Season also made the top ten.

Over the weekend, Swift, who has consistently broken numerous records, shared her gratitude on Instagram for the success of The Tortured Poets Department, stating, “I am completely blown away by what you’ve done—it stayed at #1 for the first 12 weeks of its release, and that’s never happened to an album of mine before!”
