‘Practical Magic 2’ Confirmed: Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock in Talks to Reprise Roles

Get ready to stir up some midnight margaritas because ‘Practical Magic 2’ is officially in development, and negotiations are underway for Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock to return as the enchanting sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, respectively, according to Variety.

Warner Bros. made the announcement on TikTok, sharing a clip from the beloved 1998 romance-fantasy classic with the caption, “It’s official… Practical Magic 2 is coming!”

Both Bullock and Kidman are expected not only to reprise their roles but also to serve as producers, alongside Denise Di Novi, the original film’s producer known for her work on female-centric movies like “Heathers” and “Little Women.” Akiva Goldsman, the Oscar-winning writer behind ‘A Beautiful Mind,’ will helm the screenplay, having written the script for the original film.

The original ‘Practical Magic’ followed the story of Sally and Gillian Owens, two sisters descended from a long line of witches. Raised by their aunts and trained in practical magic, the sisters navigate love, loss, and curses as they confront their family’s supernatural legacy.

While the sequel’s details are still largely under wraps, the news comes as a delight to fans, especially after the disappointment of the canceled HBO prequel series announced in 2019. Di Novi hinted at further exploration of the ‘Practical Magic’ universe earlier this year, promising something exciting in the works for fans.
