Justin Timberlake was apprehended and formally charged with driving under the influence near New York City, according to recent reports. The 43-year-old singer and actor, renowned for hits like “SexyBack” and “Cry Me a River,” was arrested in Sag Harbor, part of the upscale Hamptons area, early Tuesday morning.
Authorities stated Timberlake appeared intoxicated when he was stopped for driving through a stop sign and veering from his lane. According to CBS, police noted his bloodshot, glassy eyes and his poor performance on sobriety tests. Timberlake reportedly admitted to having consumed one martini and claimed he was following his friends home.
Following his arraignment, Timberlake, who is currently touring, was released on his own recognizance. Known for his achievements in music and acting, Timberlake gained fame with NSYNC before embarking on a successful solo career and winning numerous Grammy and Emmy awards.
He is married to actress Jessica Biel, with whom he shares two children.
