Burnley’s Vincent Kompany is reportedly set to join Bayern Munich as their new head coach for the upcoming 2024/2025 football season.
According to reports, Bayern Munich is close to resolving their head coach vacancy following confirmation that Thomas Tuchel will depart at the end of the current season.
The departure of Tuchel left Bayern Munich with the challenge of finding a suitable replacement, as several top candidates showed little interest in the role. However, it has now been confirmed that Vincent Kompany, currently managing Burnley, is Bayern’s top choice to take over the position.
Despite Burnley’s recent relegation from the Premier League, the Belgian has emerged as a surprising but promising contender. Advanced negotiations are underway, with Burnley’s owner, Alan Pace, engaging in discussions with Bayern officials about compensation. The deal is expected to be finalized by the end of the week.
Kompany began his coaching career at Anderlecht before moving to Burnley two years ago, where he quickly built a strong reputation. The former Manchester City defender transformed Burnley from a defensive team into an exciting, attacking side, successfully leading them back into the Premier League at their first attempt.
