PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan expressed his deep sorrow over Murray’s passing. He acknowledged the impact of losing a member of the PGA Tour family and extended his condolences to Grayson’s parents. Monahan revealed that, in their conversation, Murray’s parents requested that the Charles Schwab Challenge continue as scheduled, as they believed Grayson would have wanted it that way.
Grayson Murray had a notable career in professional golf, earning several major titles. He made his mark as the second-youngest player to compete in the Korn Ferry Tour at the age of 16. He secured his second PGA Tour victory at this year’s Sony Open in Hawaii, following his win at the 2017 Barbasol Championship. Murray achieved a career-high ranking of 46th in the Official World Golf Ranking after his triumphant performance in Hawaii.
