While Gunna’s latest album, “One Of Wun,” has seen considerable success since its release earlier this month, it fell short of his expectations. According to Billboard, the album secured the No. 2 spot on the Top 200 albums chart, trailing behind Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department,” with 91,000 equivalent album units sold. This marks Gunna’s sixth time entering the chart’s top five.
Initial sales projections for “One Of Wun,” reported by HitsDailyDouble, estimated 79,000 streams and 1,000 album sales, figures that Gunna exceeded. However, despite this achievement, the Georgia native has yet to meet the standard he set for himself before the album’s release.
In a recent interview with TMZ, Gunna expressed confidence in the album’s potential to top the charts, affirming its quality and success. Comparing it to his previous album, “A Gift & A Curse,” which was lauded as his biggest comeback of 2023, Gunna emphasized his resilience and determination to defy expectations. “A Gift & A Curse” peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart and produced the platinum-certified single “Fukumean,” solidifying Gunna’s position in the rap scene.
