Unai Emery Commits to Aston Villa with Contract Extension Until 2027

Unai Emery has agreed to extend his contract as Aston Villa head coach until 2027. The Spaniard is content at Villa and has plans to discuss further extending his tenure with the club this summer, according to The Athletic.

Villa’s owners, Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, see Emery as a crucial part of the club’s future and liken him to legendary Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

This contract extension provides a boost to the club as Emery has been linked to several teams due to his impressive performance this season. Under his guidance, Villa currently sits fourth in the Premier League, positioning them well for a potential Champions League qualification, and they have advanced to the Europa Conference League semi-finals.

Emery took charge of Villa in October 2022, succeeding Steven Gerrard, after leading Villarreal to a Europa League victory in the same year. Villa’s next Premier League match is against Chelsea on Saturday, followed by a Europa Conference League game against Olympiacos next Thursday.
