Tiwa Savage‘s debut film, “Water & Garri,” will premiere on Prime Video on May 10th. The movie follows Aisha (played by Savage), an aspiring fashion designer who returns to her hometown after spending a decade in the U.S. due to a family loss. Upon her return, Aisha finds her community grappling with rising violence and increased tensions.
The film is directed by Meji Alabi and is a collaborative effort between Unbound Studios and JM Films. The script is written by Comfort Emmanuel. The cast includes Mike Afolarin, Andrew Bunting, and Jemima Osunde.
Tiwa Savage plays a central role in the film, not only acting as Aisha but also contributing as a writer and performer for the original soundtrack and serving as an executive producer.
