Roma’s Evan Ndicka ‘In Good Spirits’ After Collapsing During Match

Roma defender Evan Ndicka is currently recovering in the hospital after collapsing on the field during Sunday’s Serie A encounter against Udinese.

The match at the Bluenergy Stadium was halted after 72 minutes with the score tied at 1-1, following the incident involving the 24-year-old Ivory Coast international, who fell off the ball.

Ndicka was carefully transported off the pitch on a stretcher after receiving initial treatment, and Roma later confirmed that the former Auxerre and Eintracht Frankfurt player was “feeling better” and “in good spirits” after being admitted to the hospital for assessments.

A statement shared on Roma’s official platform stated, “The team visited Ndicka at the hospital. Evan is feeling better and is in good spirits. He will remain under observation in the hospital. Forza Evan!”

Medics promptly attended to Ndicka following his collapse, and the decision was made to suspend the game as he was being transported to the hospital.

Roma’s post mentioned, “Following the on-field medical incident involving Evan Ndicka, the match between Udinese and Roma has been stopped. The player is conscious and has been taken to the hospital for further evaluations. Forza Evan, we are all with you!”

Udinese also showed support, stating, “We are with you, Ndicka.”

Roberto Pereyra had initially given Udinese the lead before halftime, but Romelu Lukaku equalized for Roma in the 64th minute.
