Premier League unveils Hazard, Fabregas, Vidic, and 12 others as 2024 Hall of Fame nominees

The Premier League has revealed the 15 players eligible for induction into the 2024 Premier League Hall of Fame.

Here’s what’s happening:

The league has listed 15 players eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame in 2024, urging fans to vote for their preferred two players. Nominees include Cesc Fabregas, Eden Hazard, and David Silva, now eligible after retiring. Also in contention are Manchester United legend Nemanja Vidic, Gary Neville, and striker Jermain Defoe.

The nominees are:

Sol Campbell, Les Ferdinand, David Silva, Michael Carrick, Robbie Fowler, John Terry, Andrew Cole, Eden Hazard, Yaya Toure, Jermain Defoe, Gary Neville, Edwin van der Sar, Cesc Fabregas, Michael Owen, and David Silva. Each inductee receives a personalized medallion with the year of induction and a £10,000 charity donation.

Who’s already in the Hall of Fame?

Established in 2021, it has 21 inductees including David Beckham, Dennis Bergkamp, Eric Cantona, Thierry Henry, Roy Keane, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, and Alan Shearer. Subsequent years added Sergio Agüero, Didier Drogba, Vincent Kompany, Wayne Rooney, Peter Schmeichel, Paul Scholes, Patrick Vieira, and Ian Wright. Managers inducted in 2023 were Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger. Recently voted-in players include Tony Adams, Petr Cech, Rio Ferdinand, and Ashley Cole.

How can fans vote?

They can vote for their two choices via the official Premier League website or app at www.premierleague.com/halloffame. Voting closes at midday on Monday, April 8th, with the announcement of the inductees set for Monday, April 22nd.
