Lance Reddick, known for his roles in “The Wire” and the “John Wick” series, has passed away at 60, confirmed by his representative, Mia Hansen, citing natural causes for his sudden death on Friday.
“He will be greatly missed,” expressed Hansen.
Reddick, initially aspiring to be a musician, transitioned to acting in the 1990s, landing roles in shows like “New York Undercover” and “The West Wing.” Despite facing a slow rise to recognition, his performance as Lt. Daniels in “The Wire” earned critical acclaim.
Co-star Wendell Pierce fondly remembered Reddick for his strength and grace, both on screen and in his musical talents. Reddick showcased his versatility in various TV series such as “Lost,” “Fringe,” “Bosch,” and Netflix’s “Resident Evil.”
In addition to TV, Reddick appeared in films like “One Night in Miami” and “Godzilla vs. Kong” and voiced Commander Zavala in the video games Destiny and Destiny 2.
Reddick’s latest project includes starring in the upcoming fourth installment of the “John Wick” series, with director Chad Stahelski and co-star Keanu Reeves expressing deep sorrow at his passing, dedicating the film to his memory.
