Nollywood actress/producer Rita Dominic has disclosed that she got into marriage at the time she did because she wanted to be sure she was marrying for the right reason and not for societal pressure.
She made this known in a recent interview with Joy 99.7 FM, Ghana, where she stated that her husband was her friend for a long time and their marriage occurred at the right time.
She said, “I wanted to be sure that I was married for the right reasons, not for the reasons that stemmed from societal pressure. Even before I got married, the pressure was there for years, but I just turned a deaf ear. Like I always say, I will marry the man of my dreams and not the man society dreams for me.”
Rita Dominic also stated that being a public figure wasn’t why she waited so long to get married, as she had a choice. She further used the opportunity to advise anyone that wants to get married to marry their friends.
In the same interview, Rita Dominic also revealed that she was banned from the Nollywood movie industry by the marketers because they were the mini-gods of the industry at the time.
