Actress Eniola Ajao has addressed the recent controversy surrounding the presentation of the ‘Best Dressed Female’ award to Bobrisky at her movie premiere.
At the highly anticipated premiere of her film, “Ajanaku: Beast of Two Worlds,” which drew in numerous celebrities, Bobrisky surprisingly received the title of Best Dressed Female of the night, accompanied by a N1 million check. However, this decision sparked criticism from many.
In an interview, Ajao explained that the choice to award Bobrisky was a deliberate publicity stunt and marketing strategy to gain attention for the movie. She emphasized Bobrisky’s controversial persona, which generated significant buzz around the event and the film.
Ajao clarified that actor Femi Adebayo, who presented the award, was unaware of the decision-making process and was simply supporting her as a colleague. She expressed regret for any unintended consequences and apologized to Adebayo and others who may have been offended by the outcome.
In a social media post, Ajao extended her apologies and emphasized the empowerment of women, reassuring her commitment to showcasing her movie, “Ajanaku: Beast of Two Worlds,” to audiences on March 29.
