O suspects were, yesterday, arraigned before the Federal High Court, Umuahia, Abia State, by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration, NAFDAC, for distributing and selling fake products to the public.
The suspects, including Arinze Asomnanya, male, and Ifeadikachi Mbama Onyeakwu, female, are all based in Aba, Abia State.
They were arraigned on a three-count charge of distributing and selling fake powdered detergent not registered with the agency.
When the case came up yesterday, the accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges, and their lawyers applied for bail under favourable condition.
The bail application was, however, not opposed by NAFDAC lawyer, Adumen Jumbo Washington.
The presiding Judge, Justice Folashade-Adejokee Olubanjo, granted bail in the sum of N100,000 each with sureties and ordered that they be remanded in prison custody until the bail conditions were perfected.
