Former President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, has included songs by Nigerian musicians, Davido, Burna Boy Asake, and Tems in his favorite music of 2023 list.
Obama unveiled the list via his ‘X’ handle on Friday evening.
‘Unavailable’ by Davido, ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ by Burna Boy featuring 21 Savage, ‘Amapiano’ by Asake & Olamide, and Tems’ ‘Me & U’ were the only Afrobeats songs on the playlist.
Sharing the playlist, Obama wrote, “Here are some of my favorite songs from this year. Let me know if there are any artists or songs I should check out.”
The Nigerian music stars joined other superstars Megan Thee Stallion, Beyonce, Victoria Monet and 6LACK on the playlist that comprises both classic and new records.
