The highly-anticipated joint album by Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign has once again faced a delay in its release date, which remains uncertain. Additionally, the eagerly awaited listening event that was scheduled for later this week has been canceled.
In the previous month, Ty Dolla $ign wiped his Instagram page clean and provided a teaser for their upcoming collaboration. Although details remained scarce, he shared an image with the text, “¥$ multi stadium listening event November 3rd.”
As of November 1, Billboard reported that the launch of their album has been called off, without providing specific reasons. Although no official release date for the record was announced, fans had anticipated it would follow the aborted listening event mentioned above.
This marks the second time that Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign have put the brakes on the album’s rollout. Initially, they had plans to perform the project in front of a massive crowd of over 100,000 fans at a grand concert in Italy towards the end of October.
Reportedly scheduled at the RCF Arena in Reggio Emilia, the concert was canceled due to unspecified obstacles. Regarding the album, recent reports indicate that Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign are seeking a distribution partner for their music.
It is speculated that they will likely partner with a smaller distributor, as some major label executives have declined the opportunity, possibly due to controversial comments made by Kanye West last year. In light of this, Rick Ross has expressed interest in signing Kanye to Maybach Music Group and releasing the album with Ty Dolla $ign through that label.
