Actor Mr. Ibu Undergoes Leg Amputation to Battle Ongoing Illness

Renowned Nigerian actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has faced the difficult decision of amputating his leg due to a persistent illness. The announcement was made by his daughter through his official Instagram account. She revealed that the actor had endured a series of seven surgeries, ultimately resulting in the amputation of his leg in a bid to save his life. This heartbreaking reality has been challenging for the entire family to come to terms with, as they had desperately tried to avoid such a situation.

Expressing her gratitude, Mr. Ibu’s daughter thanked the Nigerian community for their support and called on compassionate individuals to rally to their aid once more. This plea comes after the family had previously shared that the actor had been battling an ongoing illness, primarily affecting his leg.

As of October 31, 2023, John Okafor had undergone five surgeries and was in the intensive care unit, focusing on his recovery. Earlier, he had marked his 62nd birthday while confined to a hospital room due to the seriousness of his condition, though the extent of his ailment was undisclosed to the public at the time.
