The Grammy Award-winning artist, Tems represents the face of Nigeria in the fashion global space as she appears on one of five ELLE UK October edition covers.

Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems on ELLE  wears opulent items from Tiffany & Co. and Vivienne Westwood. Also, in honor of the return of the ELLE Style Awards won the “TrailBlazer” Award.

The Afrobeat artist in an interview with  ELLE reveals her progress through life and how music paced a way of expression for her.

The songwriter made mention of the release of her highly anticipated new album and why she’s ready for Beyonce’s call in her conversation with Charlie Brinkhurst-Cuff, Writer and Editor of ELLE.

The Afroqueen desires to work with African artists more frequently and has been collaborating with Nigerian musicians.

“I think everyone from back home is doing fantastic. I’d be thrilled to collaborate with any of them”. She said

Additionally, she shared her dream even amidst the bloom of her music career.

‘I want to be someone that is full of love, peace, joy, and care,’ she says.

‘My new dream is just to be the most evolved person I can ever be”.

TEMS Music career

In 2018, she independently released her breakthrough single, “Mr. Rebel,” which carved a niche for her kind of music and voice.

The songwriter has worked with A-list International artists for the last ten years; the likes of Drake, Rihanna, Beyoncé and many more.

Her renowned appearance on Wizkid’s 2021 hit ‘Essence,’ portrays her unusually rich, melodious voice leaving the music on repeat as it garners momentum across the world.

Also, Tem’s writing on Black Panther’s “Lift Me Up,” produced a Grammy Award and nomination for the Academy Award.

This multiple award-winner has emerged as the voice of a new generation of female artists and the face of the global Afrobeats movement as she matches on to occupy the male-dominated Afrobeats genre.
