Neymar, now Brazil’s all-time leading scorer, has made just three appearances for Al-Hilal and is eagerly awaiting his first goal with the club. He has been quite open about his desire to eventually return to Santos, with the plan seemingly set to materialize a year prior to the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Quintino, through his social media platforms, revealed, “Through discussions with acquaintances of Neymar Senior and Neymar Junior, I learned that they didn’t commit to a four-year contract with the Saudis but instead opted for a two-year agreement, allowing him to come back to Santos a year before the World Cup. Neymar personally reached out to Santos with the request to return. While I won’t divulge the names of our mutual acquaintances, I can confirm that Neymar has a strong desire to reunite with Santos.”
The 31-year-old forward embarked on a new chapter in his illustrious career by joining Saudi Arabia in August. Although there were speculations of a four-year deal in the Middle East, it appears that the actual contract duration is closer to two years. Neymar’s intention is not to stay with Al-Hilal for an extended period. According to Brazilian journalist Ademir Quintino, the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain maestro is set to make a return to his roots at Santos in 2025.
