Burna Boy achieved a remarkable milestone in his career with an impressive 7 nominations at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards. The announcement on the official BET website on September 8, 2023, solidifies his status as a global music sensation, following in the footsteps of Nigerian artists like Rema and Wizkid.

This achievement comes hot on the heels of Burna Boy’s seventh studio album release, “I Told Them,” which created quite a buzz on social media when he candidly discussed the state of Afrobeat music, calling out its perceived lack of substance.

Burna Boy’s nominations span a range of categories, including Song of the Year for “Sittin on the World” featuring 21 Savage, Top Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Collaboration, Best Live Performer, Lyricist of the Year, and Hustler of the Year.
