Seyi Vibez amongst nominees of this year’s Headies Awards as Wizkid’s ‘More Love Less Ego’ was shut out.

The Headies, Africa’s biggest music awards, which have been the most influential and popular show in the Nigerian music business since 2006, are poised to host its 16th edition. Its yearly acknowledgment of the extraordinary success of talent in the music industry has spread around the world, as it now involves both domestic and international artists, blended performances, and awards for both established and new artists in the music industry.

The 16th Headies Award recognizes the new sensation Seyi Vibez as a nominee for the next rated award alongside other hit makers; Asake, Young John and Victony. This category is highly applauded for its grand reward of a car for the winner just as the 15th Headies next rated award winner; Daniel Benson known as Buju was given the 2022 Bentley Bentayga last year. This year’s awards has Burna Boy, Rema, Asake and Ruger leading the nominations list.

Wizkid’s exclusion as a nominee in this year’s Headies Award for the first time in 13 years sparked outrage on social media. Since 2011, Wizkid has been graciously awarded in various categories of The Headies. However, it is worth noting that his most recent project, ‘More Money, Less Ego,’ was not recognized in any of the Award categories, leaving fans intrigued and perplexed as to the reason for its exclusion.
