Bandits have attacked Sabon layi community in Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna state on Thursday where they Killed 3 farmers, abducted farmers and travelers.
Although the police were yet to react to the incident, a community leader in the affected area said the abducted farmers and travellers were taken into the forest.
The community leader, Sallau Ibrahim said the bandits attacked the area at about 12pm. “They killed 3 farmers Anas Sabonlayi, Abubakar Dankibiya, and Harisu Unguwar Lemu,” he said.
“The bandits also attacked travellers who were coming from the western part to Birnin-Gwari Market to observe the weekly Thursday’s market in the town.”
“They kidnapped some of the traders and travellers on their way to the market. For about two weeks the farmers didn’t go to farm in the area. Today they decided to go they were attacked and kidnapped, “he said.
“Those killed were buried in Sabonlayi village around 4:30pm today according to Islamic tradition. “
