Man City’s 2023-24 Home Kit Unveiled

“PUMA Launches 2023/24 Manchester City Home Kit, Commemorating 20 Years at Etihad Stadium”

PUMA has introduced the latest Manchester City Home kit for the 2023/24 season, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the club’s historic relocation to Etihad Stadium. The design of the kit pays homage to the stadium’s iconic features, drawing inspiration from the shirt worn during the inaugural season at the new ground.

In August 2003, Manchester City bid farewell to their 80-year home at Maine Road, embarking on a new chapter just three and a half miles away at Etihad Stadium. This move marked the beginning of an era filled with new achievements, legendary players, and unforgettable moments. The 2023/24 Home kit is a fitting tribute to this legacy, honoring the significance of Etihad Stadium as the beloved home of Manchester City.

The front graphic of the new Home jersey showcases the distinctive architectural elements of Etihad Stadium, with tonal stripes inspired by the four towering turrets visible from the exterior. Adding to the commemorative details, the back of the neck displays the stadium’s postcode, symbolizing 20 years at City’s new home. The kit also features a white V-neck collar reminiscent of the 2003/04 Home shirt, worn during the inaugural season at Etihad Stadium.

To mark the kit launch, PUMA and Manchester City invited a selection of fans and club representatives to join first-team players in the campaign visuals. This inclusive approach highlights the shared passion and connection between the team, fans, and the Etihad Stadium.

Club Ambassador Shaun Wright-Phillips, who played during the inaugural season at Etihad, expressed his pride and nostalgia, remarking on the significance of the stadium in Manchester City’s history. He applauded PUMA’s decision to draw inspiration from Etihad Stadium for this year’s Home kit, hoping that it would evoke fond memories for the fans.

The 20th anniversary of the club’s move to Etihad Stadium holds tremendous significance, celebrating the remarkable journey and growth of Manchester City over the past two decades. The new Home kit serves as a tribute to the extraordinary moments shared within the stadium and the unwavering support of the fans. Marco Mueller, PUMA Senior Head of Product Line Management Teamsport Apparel, emphasized the blend of modern design elements with nods to the club’s inaugural season at the ground, creating a unique and meaningful kit that captures the essence of home.

The new kit incorporates cutting-edge technology to enhance performance and comfort on the pitch. Constructed with ULTRAWEAVE fabric, the kit offers a structured, 4-way stretch design that reduces weight and friction, enabling players to move freely and comfortably. The integration of dryCELL technology in the fabric helps keep the body sweat-free during intense matches.

The Replica version of the kit is crafted from 100% recycled polyester and features dryCELL sweat-wicking technology, ensuring dryness and comfort throughout the game. Both jerseys are made from 100% recycled materials, excluding trims and decorations, showcasing a commitment to sustainability.

Following the success of PUMA’s previous kit launch in the Metaverse for the 2022/23 Third kit, Manchester City will also celebrate the release of the 2023/24 Home kit with a special metaverse event on their Roblox experience, Blue Moon.
