The “longest cooking marathon by an individual” record was beaten by Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, a Nigerian chef.
On Monday morning, the cook broke the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes held by Lata Tandon, holder of the Guinness World Record.
On Thursday at precisely 4 o’clock in the afternoon, Hilda turned on her cooker and entered the contest.
The restaurateur continues to cook despite having already smashed the record in her quest to spend 96 hours in the kitchen and become the first person to do it.
