Over the weekend, a video of Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti punching a police officer in a uniform on the Third Mainland Bridge went viral.
Seun was seen in the video arguing with the policeman before pushing and slapping the officer. Additionally, it reveals Seun’s wife stepping out of his car to comfort him as he was arguing with the police officer. Seun nevertheless continued to slap the officer.
Seun posted an explanation of his motivation for the assault on his Instagram account after the footage of it went viral.
The renowned Fela Kuti’s son claims that the policeman attempted to assassinate both him and his family. He added that the officer had expressed regret and that no charges will be brought against him.
