American actor and producer Tom Cruise reportedly skipped the Oscars on Sunday to avoid an awkward run-in with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman.
According to sources, Tom Cruise was noticeably absent from the 2023 Oscars due to his ex-wife being there following their bitter divorce over twenty years ago.
The source speaking with DailyMail.com said, “Tom was not there because she was there, and he did not want a run-in.”
Sources close to Tom Cruise however claimed that his absence was not personal and was nothing more than scheduling difficulties, though they did not reply specifically to the claim that it was connected to Nicole Kidman’s presence.
Just so you know, Tom Cruise’s movie, Top Gun: Maverick was nominated for six awards, including the coveted Best Picture Award.
The former couple who got married in December, 1990 adopted two children, Isabella and Connor who are both reportedly members of the Church of Scientology, just like their dad.
Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman called it quit in 2001, citing “irreconcilable difference” after allegedly walking out on Kidman that same year.
That move left the ‘Big Little Lies’ actress in utter shock as fans suspected that the marriage came to an end due to her refusal to become a Scientologist.
