Canadian singer/songwriter, The Weeknd has claimed a spot in the Guinness World Records Books as the most popular artiste on the planet.
He achieved this feat as he recently broke two new records on Spotify; one for most monthly listeners in Spotify history by breaching the one hundred and eleven million mark, and another for being the first artiste to breach the one hundred million monthly listeners’ mark in general.
With this record, The Weeknd now joins the late King Of Pop, Michael Jackson as the only artiste with multiple number-one songs from three of his albums, thanks to his recently released ‘Die For You (Remix) with Ariana Grande.
His 2020 track ‘Blinding Lights’ is also the biggest song ever, achieving the most Spotify streams, as it is also the longest charting song on the Billboard Hot 100 of all time with a total of ninety weeks on the chart.
