Colombian singer Shakira has topped Spotify’s Top 50 Global chart with her new diss track aimed at her ex-partner, Gerard Pique, and his new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti.
The viral collaboration dubbed Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions vol. 53 which was released in Spanish earlier last week became the Latin song with the most streams in a single day in 2023 on the platform’s chart history, breaking the record for most streams by a track on a given day in Spain and Colombia, as it also gained an impressive over one hundred and eleven million views on YouTube.
With over fifteen million streams, the song which is a collaboration with producer, Bizarrap has quickly become the top song in Spanish-speaking markets, including Argentina, Colombia, Chile, and Mexico.
The song takes a swipe at Gerard Pique’s new girlfriend, twenty-three-year-old Clara Chia Marti who he is rumoured to have started dating last year before they split.
A part of the song goes, “I’m worth two 22’s. You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio. A lot of gyms. But work your brain a little bit too.”
The song was also met with an emotional Instagram post from the pop singer that read, “What for me was a catharsis and a discharge. I never thought I would get straight to number one in the world at 45 years old and in Spanish.
I want to embrace the millions of women who rise up against those who make us feel insignificant. Women who defend what they feel and think and raise their hand when they don’t agree – They are my inspiration.”
In related news, it has been revealed that Shakira even set up a terrifying life-size witch doll on the balcony of her Spanish home which reportedly looks over her former mother-in-law’s house.
According to residents in the area, Shakira has been blasting the diss song at high volume from her home to the hearing of her ex-mother-in-law.
If you would recall late last year, Shakira confirmed the news of her breakup with Gerard Pique in a statement after being together for over a decade.
She wrote, “For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect our privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”
