Gospel singer Sammie Okposo who died in his sleep on November 15 has been finally laid to rest.
He was buried in a private cemetery at Ikoyi after a church service led by the senior pastor of House on the rock, Pastor Adefarasin, and the lead pastor of Love of God in Christ church, Dr. Flourish Peters.
The deceased wife wept uncontrollably as he was being lowered to the ground. Mourners had to assist her in pouring sand on the coffin.
The gospel musician was born May 30, 1971, in Delta state. In the year 2000, he took the music industry by storm when he released his debut album, ‘Unconditional Love’ with the hit single ‘Welu-Welu’ which took him beyond local recognition into the international scene.
He’s survived by his wife Ozioma and his only child Alula Okposo.
