Another woman has been reported dead from injuries sustained Asake’s concert that took place on Thursday, December 15 2022 at the 02 Academy in Brixton, South London.
The young lady, Gabrielle Hutchinson succumbed to her injuries on Monday, December 19. The 23-year-old woman was said to be one of the security providers at the Asake’s concert.
The Chief Security Supreteindent, Colin Wingrove who is in charge of investigations called the death “devastating news” and sent his condolences to her family.
Recall that a young mother of two, Racheal Ikumelo had also passed away after being in a critical state from injuries sustained from the stampede. Asake in a statement said
“I am devastated by the news that Racheal, Ikumelo who was in a critical condition since Thursday has sadly passed away. My interest condolences to her loved ones at this time. Let us pls keep her family in our prayers this time, I have spoken to them and would continue to do so. I am overwhelmed with grief and could never have imagined anything like this happening”.
Asake’s concert was disrupted by a large crowd of people without tickets who tried to gain entrance into the concert. Several people were allegedly injured after chaos broke out at the concert by the resulting in a stampede
Police were called to the Brixton O2 Academy at 9.35pm and reportedly found a number of people with ‘injuries believed to have been caused by crushing’.
