Nigerian superstar Wizkid has tendered an unreserved apology to his Ghanaian fans for failing to perform at a concert he was supposed to headline in Ghana.
The singer was billed to perform at the Wizkid Live concert scheduled for Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Extending his heartfelt apology to his fans on Twitter on Sunday evening, Wizkid wrote, “Ghana is a country I hold so dear to my heart, first and foremost I wanna apologise to all my fans! Y’all know I would never do anything without serious reasoning behind it.
My brand is something I don’t joke with. I sincerely apologize, to everyone who made the effort to come out for me last night. I was charged up and looking forward to doing this show.”
According to Wizkid, every decision he made was to honour his fans and he would only make a drastic decision like that because it was the right thing to do.
He continued, “Unfortunately, up until the day of this show, there continued to be safety and production issues that prevented me from putting on a high-quality show that my fans deserve. My Team and I are working on delivering a show to my amazing fans in Ghana. It will be just us, me and you. Date and details soon. Love you.”
Meanwhile, organizers of the Wizkid Live concert in Ghana have since given an apology to those that attended, while calling out the artiste for breaching the contract.
There are also reports that Wizkid was a no-show in Abidjan, as he was billed to perform at a concert in the city.
He was however spotted in Cotonou, performing at a concert which is one of the three concerts he was billed to attend this weekend.
