Nicolas Aina, a Nigerian, has been charged with murdering his mother Caroline Adeyelu, 64, and seriously wounding his sister Angel Adeyelu, 33, at their family home in Dagenham, East London, United Kingdom.
The 28-year-old is accused of entering his sister’s bedroom and repeatedly stabbing her with a knife.
Caroline allegedly entered the house on Auriel Avenue when she heard her daughter screaming and trying to find out what was going on, but the suspect allegedly lunged at her with the knife before running away.
Aina’s mother was declared dead at the scene, but his sister was treated for stab wounds in a hospital and released.
Samantha Southey, a neighbour who resided close to the victims’ home, reportedly claimed to have heard the disturbance caused by the occurrence.
She said, “I just heard a bit of commotion last night. The police knocked on the door and said they caught the person. It’s a little bit frightening.”
According to reports, Aina was charged with murder and attempted murder on Tuesday, November 1, when he appeared before Judge Philip Katz KC at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court. He was kept in custody and ordered to show up in court on Thursday at the Old Bailey.
