Femi Otedola’s 60th birthday celebration will hold on Friday, November 4th. In advance, the billionaire decided to spoil himself by renting the luxury yacht belonging to one of his childhood idols, the late Greek shipping magnate, Aristotle Onassis, who was once regarded as the richest man in the world.
CHRISTINA O is one of the most iconic motor yachts ever launched, best known for her grand interiors and unrivalled level of luxurious amenities.
Starting life in World War Two as a Canadian frigate, Christina O was purchased in 1954 by Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis, who transformed her into the most luxurious private yacht of her time. She went on to host a wealth of illustrious guests, ranging from Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra to John F Kennedy and Winston Churchill.
According to reports, the yacht will “travel for 3 weeks around the Mediterranean Sea with Otedola and 37 crew on board,”.
In clips sighted online, Otedola was seen checking out the interior of the yacht alongside his family.
Nigerian singer Mr Eazi who is set to be the billionaire’s son-in-law was also present as the entourage stepped onto the ship.
Meanwhile, Nigerians have reacted in various ways to the news with some praising the act while others frown upon the extravagance.
