Another day, another legal drama, as singer Joeboy has reacted to the three hundred-million-naira copyright lawsuit filed against him by fellow singer Asa.

Joeboy who released a new song in August titled ‘Contour’ which was produced by Tempoe was served a copyright infringement notice a few weeks after the release.

According to the notice, the lawyers representing Asa stated that the song’s composition was created by Asa in a recording session with Tempoe which took place on the 22nd of September 2020.

It further stated their client didn’t grant permission for Joeboy and Tempoe to utilize said composition.

Asa’s legal team however demanded that the song be taken off all DSPs within twenty-four hours of receiving the letter.

In addition, they also demanded that Joeboy and Tempoe address an apology to their client for the copyright breach while seizing any and all further infringements.

As a remedy for the damages, Asa is seeking three hundred million naira in damages as well as a sixty per cent cut of the split sheet.

Reacting to the notice, Joeboy took to his Instagram story to share a copy of the lawsuit with the caption “LOL.”

In another post, he wrote, “Cos I dey always do love and light you think sey I be soft meat.”

Joeboy then ended with the last post taunting Asa’s representative writing, “You said I have 24 hours, it’s been 48 hours, do something.”
