It’s Wednesday again and today we will be crushing on the very beautiful Tyra Lynne Banks!!!
She is an American television personality, a fantastic model, producer, writer, fierce businesswoman and actress best known as the face of cover girl and the American retailer Victoria’s secret.
Most famous for her long stint as a model for Victoria’s secret, she is also known for her daily television talk show, The Tyra Banks Show, and for hosting the modelling competition series Americas Next Top Model.
Tyra Banks became the first African-American woman on the covers of GQ and the sports-illustrated swimsuit issue.
She has also graced the runway for luxury brands like Yves Saint Laurent, Oscar de la Renta, and others. However, behind her great image in front of the cameras, there are lots of her stories that remain untold.
As an actress, she began her acting career on television in the sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in 1993, and made her film debut in the drama, Higher Learning in 1995.
She also went on to star in films such as Life-Size, Coyote Ugly, Love & Basketball, Halloween: Resurrection, and the television series Gossip Girl, Glee, and others.
Tyra is a veteran, a living Legend, and a history maker, as she is one of the first black supermodels, paving the way for other men and women of colour to be upfront and centre where they belong.
Her life, accomplishments, and philosophy about beauty continue to be an inspiration for many young girls and women.
Now here are 5 things you may not know about Tyra Banks!!!
- Her first job was as a photo lighting and makeup assistant when she was twelve.
- She was rejected by six modelling industries for being black, which caused a rough start in her modelling career.
- She does not diet at all. The supermodel does not believe in diets, up from her blooming years, she has not for once starved herself to fit the trade.
- She regrets retiring from Victoria’s secret. Tyra Banks left the brand in 2005 because she wanted to leave before they kicked her out because of her age.
- She launched a beauty and style website called typeF.com, a website which remains committed to helping young women achieve a positive body image through her foundation, TZONE.
These are a few of the many reasons why we love Tyra Banks.
