The nominations for the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards are out, and our very own Tems and Burna Boy make the list of nominees alongside Drake, Lizzo, Kanye West, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Kendrick Lamar and others in various categories.
Nigerian superstar Tems received three nominations for her contribution to Future‘s single ‘Wait For U’, while the African Giant, Burna Boy was nominated for video director of the year for his work on the smash hit single ‘Last Last.’
Drake had fourteen nominations in categories such as Lyricist of the Year, Hip Hop Album of the Year, and Best Live Performer, while Kanye West earned ten nominations, including Hip Hop Artist of the Year, while Kendrick Lamar received nine nominations overall.
Other nominees this year include Future, who received eight nominations, as well as Baby Keem, Cardi B, and J. Cole having six nods respectively.
The 17th edition of the BET Hip Hop Awards which will be hosted by veteran rapper Fat Joe is scheduled to hold on Friday, September 30 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, U.S.A and will premiere on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, on BET.
