This is a special one for children; it is easy to make and your kids will definitely love it.
Baby food is any soft easily consumed food other than breastmilk or infant formula that is made specifically for human babies between four and six months and two years old
The food comes in many varieties and flavours that are purchased ready-made from producers, or it may be table food eaten by the family that has been mashed or otherwise broken down.
As of 2011, the World Health Organization, UNICEF and many national health agencies recommended waiting until six months of age before starting a child on food.
World health organizations also encourage that you introduce family food in texture that your baby can easily absorb, digest and chew
Individual babies may differ greatly from this guideline based on their unique developmental progress.
However, this food needs to be safe and healthy to eat. You need to discover the child’s food language and understand your baby’s habits.
Baby food can be given when the child is developmentally ready to eat. Signs of readiness include,
- Ability to sit without help
- Loss of tongue thrust and
- Display active interest in food that others are eating.
You can give your baby,
- Rice
- Beans
- Plantain
- Chicken
- Wheat
- Vegetables
- Liver
- Snacks
Kids under the age of 2 do not need added sugar and it is actually not good for their health. Fruits are rather added to their meal to give it a sweet taste.
